Would you like to meet others who share your love of sewing and embroidery? Every month I present a new idea or project or technique that you can use with your embroidery machine. Do you want to learn new embroidery ideas or project ideas that you can use with your Viking or Babylock machines? You will see what others have embroidered with their machines. We have a time for ‘Show and Tell’ where you can bring in your projects to share with the other members. Do you have questions that you want answered? Want to find out about the latest notions? You can bring any questions. Come and join the fun each month.

SERGER QUILTED TOTE BAG This tote is serged using reversible strip quilting. ‘Channel Quilting’ creates a reversible quilted fabric without obvious rows of stitching. You will create a unique handle that holds the tote closed. You will also learn to gather quickly on the serger to make a puffing strip in the middle as well as putting on a binding with the serger. This will be a class to help you get to know your serger! Classes Meet: In Davenport Friday, August 27 10 AM – 3:00 PM	KNOT AN ORDINARY PURSE—A Sewing Class for Kids Easy piecing is sure to make this fashionable sling purse an often repeated project. It can be made in 2 sizes. This bag is lined with contrast fabric and its long handles can be adjusted slightly in length by where you choose to tie the knot! You will learn to fuse iron-on interfacing and also to ‘box’ corners of the bag. Class size is limited so sign up early! You must pay for the class to reserve your spot! HEIRLOOM BOW TIE QUILT A quick and easy heirloom baby gift, made as you master several serger techniques during the creation of this quilt. Gingham check (or a subtle print) borders and the two color solid bow tie corner blocks frame the center panel fancy band made of Victorian embroidered insertion, beading threaded with fabric ribbon created on your serger, batiste and serger pintucks. Or maybe some favorites that your father had? These purses will be a way to keep them. You may want to make these as gifts for someone special or as a keepsake for yourself. SERGER STRIPED CURLY STOCKING Your toes just might curl with excitement when you see how quickly this fun stocking goes together with your serger. Cut so the stripes run diagonally across the leg and toe, the lined stocking has a two-color cuff and ruffle. The elves will be happy! Sign up early to reserve your spot.
