In August we welcomed our grandaughter, Madelyn. I had a lot of  fun making things for her nursery.  The nursery theme is red gingham appliqued ladybugs on pink and pastel green. I could not find a quilt pattern that I liked so I created my own.  I wanted to feature the embroideries and the pastel 'piano keys' around the edge really brought it to life.  Her name and birthdate are embroidered in the bottom right hand corner on the green sashing on the quilt.  Daddy is watching Madelyn as he holds the quilt.  The back of the quilt is pink gingham and I designed a quilt label for it.  For many of the embroideries, I used Anita Goodesign's Baby Bugs.

The pattern for the scalloped valance is Simplicity 4997.  The matching diaper stacker is hanging near the changing table.  The bib is a Martha Pullen Ready to Embroider baby knit.  The design on it is from Dakota Collectibles Applique Fun.

Mommy is watching Madelyn looking at the butterfly on her bumper in her new crib.  I also made a matching dust ruffle with an Endless Lady bug and flower border.

This is a close-up of the 4 embroidered sections of the bumper pad.  I also used them in the quilt, valance, and diaper stacker.   I used the designs from Anita Goodesign's Baby Bugs and small ladybugs that I edited from Dakota Collectibles Applique Fun and also Dakota Collectible Applique Variety #2, as well as some other small flowers.

The pattern that I used for the bumper pad, diaper stacker, and sheets is  McCall's 7868.  It is currently out of print but there are several other baby nursery patterns in all of the brands of patterns.  This was the same pattern that I used for my two grandsons' nurseries.  I have certainly made good use of the pattern!
