Last Updated 12/18/11 On this page I have added pictures of past
Creative Clubs. In each club I demonstrate a technique and show
one or more projects that can use this technique. I have put the
most current club at the top of the page for your browsing convenience!
The directions for these projects can be purchased at Quilts-n-Blooms
in Geneseo or Neal's Sewing Center in Muscatine. |

In December I showed how to make some Quick Gifts. Christmas Tree napkins, Coasters, Cook book covers using either laminated fabric or iron-on vinyl with any fabric, and a Finger Pincushion made from a bottle cap. These are quick Christmas gifts or could be made at any time for a gift or for yourself! |

In November I showed how to make travel accessories. I made a Trifold Hanging Organizer Bag with vinyl pockets and lots of zippers, a curling iron bag, a shoe bag and a makeup bag. It is interesting to see how they look in different fabrics and trims. Lots of different techniques in these projects! |

In October, I showed the 'raggy' technique using flannel and denim. I created a baby raggy quilt and an adult raggy throw. I also created raggy placemats, trivets and coaters, using an embroidery quilted design in the center of some of them. This teachnique is simple and creates texture in your projects. |

In September , I showed how to use the Double Diamond rulers to create a Fabric Folded technique. I created a table runner that uses both the 1.5 and the 3.5 rulers. I also made bookmarks and another 'square' table topper using the Diamond Wine pattern. |

In August, I used Texture Magic to add dimension to several different styles of purses. I created a pattern for a clutch purse that is texturized completely. The black Mini Messenger bag has a texturized flap created with a 'diamond' fabric. The next purse is the Serenity Bag and it has a texturized flap that I didwith a rectangle grid. The black and grey Serenity flap is done with seashell fabric. The possibilities are endless! |

The July Creative Clubs featured Aprons. The
Retro Pintuck apron could be made either with a serger or sewing machine.
The Four Corners apron is very easy and looks different with each
color combination. I even made a small one for my granddughter's
birthday! Again these would make great gifts! With the apron
fabric scraps, I made Mitered Hot Pads.

The June Creative Club showed making a Quilted Purse. The purse is channel quilted diagonally and has plenty of pockets inside and outside. A unique zipper application finishes the top of the purse. Using fun fabrics or batiks can make this purse special for yourself or a gift! |
|||||
The May Creative Club was showing Applique the traditional method, raw edge applique, and applique by machine embroidery. The small purse is the Mini Messenger with a butterfly on the flap. The March Creative Club used Texture Magic on the flap of the grey Serenity Bag and on the side pockets of the Deli Tote. I also used elastic thread in the bobbin to create the shirred top of my granddaughter's TinkerBelle dress. |
|||||
In the February Creative Club, I showed many different styles of easy bags - a gift bag, travel shoe bags and a small triangular bag that could be emebellished with embroidery or made of a print fabric. The January Creative Club showed double needle pintucks on fleece, batiste, cotton fabric and rainwear fabric. |
